Kampala, 4 October 2019: Twenty-eight engineers and technicians from Burundi, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda received Certificates of Attendance upon successfully completing EAC Regional Training Course on Development, Design, Installation and Operation of Small Hydropower Plants Opens, which was held at the Centre for Research in Energy and Energy Conservation (CREEC) Makerere University from 30 September to 4 October 2019.


Kampala, 30 September 2019: A five-day East African Regional Training Course on Development, Design, Installation and Operation of Small Hydropower Plants officially kicks off today at Makerere University, Kampala with about 30 participants from the EAC Partner States.


Nairobi, 18 September 2019: A 3-day workshop on EAC Bioenergy Development Strategy and Investment Plan officially kicked off at Nairobi Safari Club. The workshop brought together over 30 key stakeholders from the region including ministries responsible for energy and other government institutions involved in the bioenergy sector, the EAC Secretariat, EACREEE, private sector, civil society and academia as well representatives from the African Union Commission (AUC), African Union Development Agency (AUDA) and United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA).


Nairobi, 16 September 2019: A two-week’ East African Regional Training Course on Standalone Solar PV Systems Design and Installation officially kicks off today at Kenyatta University Conference Centre, Nairobi, Kenya with over 30 participants from the EAC Partner States.


KAMPALA (September 4, 2019) — The World Resources Institute (WRI),  in collaboration with the East African Centre of Excellence for Renewable Energy and Efficiency (EACREEE), the Energy Sector GIS Working Group, the Africa-EU Energy Partnership (AEEP), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and other partners launched the Energy Access Explorer.
