REGIONAL TRAININGS ON ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN THE INDUSTRIAL SECTOR

East African Centre of Excellence for Renewable Energy and Efficiency (EACREEE) has earmarked the promotion of energy efficiency as one of the ten (10) technical areas of focus under its 2025-2030 Strategic Plan. EACREEE’s mandate includes strengthening private sector capacity through regional policy harmonisation, investment promotion, awareness creation, and technical training.

In line with this mandate, EACREEE is organising a Virtual EAC Regional Training on Energy Efficiency in the Industrial Sector, primarily targeting private sector industrial actors. The training will focus on practical, business-oriented solutions that enable companies to reduce energy costs, improve productivity, and enhance long-term competitiveness, while fostering regional knowledge exchange among EAC Partner States. 

Purpose of the Training

• Build practical capacity of private sector industrial firms to identify and implement cost-effective energy efficiency measures
• Improve understanding of energy efficiency as a business and competitiveness tool, rather than a compliance obligation
• Share regional private sector experiences and case studies on industrial energy efficiency
• Support EACREEE’s broader efforts to scale up energy efficiency investments across the region in line with its 2025-2030 Strategic Plan. 

Target Audience

The training is primarily targeted at the private sector, including:

• Owners, managers, and technical staff of industrial and manufacturing companies
• Energy and facility managers from industries
• Industrial associations
• Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) and technology providers
• Financial institutions supporting industrial clients
