EACREEE Interns
Purpose of the Internship Programme
The purpose of the EACREEE internship programme is to provide young professionals who have recently completed a degree (or those undertaking graduate programmes) with the opportunity to gain practical work experience in line with their studies or interests, and expose them to works related to sustainable energy solutions. At the same time, this provides capacity building for the students as well as benefiting EACREEE and its programmatic work to obtain the assistance of qualified students specialized in various professional fields.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the internship programme, applicants must:
Be at least 20 years of age and have completed at least a three-years’ degree programme from a recognized university or equivalent institution in a relevant field;
Apply within one year after the completion of a bachelor's degree programme or while enrolled for masters’, or doctorate degree. Applications submitted after that time will not be considered;
Not have previously participated in the EACREEE’s internship programme;
Have a proficient (oral and written) knowledge of English;
Be a national of EAC Partner State. Non EAC citizens may be accepted under exceptional circumstances.
Duration
The duration of internships shall be three months, renewable only up to a maximum of one (1) year – depending on the needs and performance.
Remuneration
EACREEE does not offer salary/stipends for interns.
When and How to Apply
You can apply for EACREEE internship at any time. Doing so, your name will be added to the list of applicants interested in the internship field of your choice. When the need for a new intern in a particular area arises, we will draw on the list of applicants of that respective field and shortlist candidates for interviews. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
Applicants must submit application onlnie (use the "Apply" tab above). The following documents should be included:
Completed EACREEE Internship Application Form;
A letter of recommendation from your university endorsed by a senior faculty member who has directly supervised you in the recent past and who is fully acquainted with your performance;
A copy of your school transcript/testimonials;
A Motivation Letter setting out the reasons why you are seeking an internship with EACREEE and what is expected from the experience.
Fields of Interest
While internship needs change from time to time depending on special projects or priorities, EACREEE typically accept interns from the following fields of study:
Engineering (energy, electrical, mechanical, chemical/industrial, civil and agricultural).
Natural sciences and mathematics (physics, chemistry, mathematics, statistics and environmental sciences).
Information technology (computer science, graphic design, management information systems, multimedia web design, software engineering)
Administration and Management (accounting, business administration, finance, procurement, human resources management).
Social Sciences/Humanities (economics, gender, international relations, mass communication, population studies, law).
